amused by my utter fail
So I just found my resolutions for this year. LOL.

1) I will exercise.
2) I will finish F&F.
3) I will teach myself CSS.
4) I will make myself an online folio.
5) I will write, and publish my writing.
6) I will learn to say 'no'.
7) I will put away at least one third of my pay each week and not touch it.
8) If I am not writing, I will read.
9) ...or play video games.

10) I will be punctual.
11) I will participate in NaNoMango with [info - personal] kuchibue and reward her for her participation with this year's NaNovel.

I think we call this year a write-off. XD I did attain some awesome things I did not write down, though, so it's not as bad as all that. STILL. LOL, #1-6. ...although technically I guess #5 I did, since, y'know, doc writer. >_> I published my writing today, after all.

Anyway, today was not awful - things are still going alarmingly well as far as the project goes, and everything should be available tomorrow morning. I will be unutterably relieved to get rid of this thing, though the next is really no better.

I get to pick my new desk on Friday. Have no idea where I would like to be. Probably facing a window so that I don't get glare on my monitors, because that drives me bugfuck, but aside from that I really do not know. We're all on a training course next week, and after an early meeting tomorrow I'm starting work on a new project. We need to have stuff bundled off to QE by Friday, though. At least this means they can QE stuff pretty thoroughly over the week my team is being taught how to not use our Linux boxes as toasters.

Anyway, must go. Word war begins very shortly. :)

[EDIT] And I am all out of Holmes to watch. ;_; My heart. It is breaking.

for really reals this time.
All right. Let's try those new year's resolutions again.

1) I will exercise.
Every day that I am not working, I will cycle or walk. Every day that I am working, I am allowed to slack off, but if I finish before nine I should consider walking home.

2) I will finish F&F.
Preferably by April First. It's a very important thing, guys, seriously.

3) I will teach myself CSS.
And if I can't teach myself, I will take classes. There is no reason not to make myself as employable as possible.

4) I will make myself an online folio.
With aforementioned CSS. And preferably with edited short stories. And maybe an online resume for my own reference. XD;

5) I will write, and publish my writing.
By which I mean: at least four short stories written, submitted, and accepted/rejected by the end of the year. (Yes, rejection letters are a part of growing up. Shut up.)

6) I will learn to say 'no'.
To work. Not to my people.

7) I will put away at least one third of my pay each week and not touch it.
AT ALL. EVER. >:| I will put it in a locked box if necessary.

8) If I am not writing, I will read.
Because it is very difficult to do both, and I cannot bear to do neither.

9) ...or play video games.
Preferably the ones I have not finished yet, because the list is getting ridiculous.

10) I will be punctual.
With presents, with payments, with promises. No more of this letting my schedule get months and months overdue. It is ridiculous and stressful and misery-inducing and it must stop.

[EDIT] 11) I will participate in NaNoMango with [info]kuchibue and reward her for her participation with this year's NaNovel.
Terms and Conditions are as follows: If she wins, she gets my NaNo. If she loses, she gets my NaNo. If I get my prescribed 30 pages in the month and she loses, she still gets my NaNo, but I get hers as well. And she has to do something for me if I get my thirty pages and she gets hers, too.

azira-fail?
Wait, no, that wasn't the title I wanted to use, it is completely inappropriate for this entry. XD; Alas.

Christmas was relatively relaxed, except for the relatives. Oomi keeps panicking because she has dementia and thinks she should be at the shop, or has left her babies at home, so it took about eight of us to talk her into sitting down and eating lunch. She was better after food, but god, she's so thin. So, so thin. I don't know how either of them are going to last another year like this. the food was delicious, of course, but poor Oomi sort of put a damper on things, especially for Oop.

I took a brief look at my [info]no_true_pair fics today and realised I had no idea where the end of the first Sephiroth/Mildmay was heading. Also I have no time to write any of those, seriously. Fucking work.

But I've decided that I really do want to make that DoL layout. Um. C-complete with labyrinth backdrop and new colour scheme. It will be difficult, but I think I should be able to teach myself CSS by the time I'm done CGing a header that matches the one in my head. Yes, it will kill me. But it might be done by the time there is a Doctrine of Labyrinths movie --by next year. XD;
