Okay. So, in the usual story of my life, work has been one complicated drama after another but for some reason (other than the days it makes me want to KILL MYSELF) I've started loving it. I think it might have been the moment when I read a WA Parliamentary Transcript to see the Premier of WA (who is an incredible arsehole but that's beside the point) had held up a screencap of my website and mentioned it. In Parliament.

There could also be the full page spread on page four of the West Australian that has a huge photo of my boss. In said photo you can clearly see him holding a flyer that I designed and produced. Okay so part of me is MORTIFIED because I did that flyer in like...five minutes...because we were rushed out of our brains but once again:

I know it's just the WA media and to honest that's probably not all that impressive. My name isn't on it anywhere and I guarantee no one other than people at work know I make all this stuff that is getting some serious notice but some part of me just can't help but get a ridiculous kick out of opening the paper and seeing something I made in there. Or knowing my website pisses politicans off enough that they mention it in Parliament.

I keep just wanting to go back to sleep. And have frequently ended up lying down, if not sleeping. I think it's the cold weather. My answer to cold is pretty much always to curl up under the covers again. It's terribly unproductive but it is pretty comfortable.

I commented with prompts for IJ's porn_battle, mostly because I wimped out last time and I was determined not to be afraid to do something like leave prompts. Although, I was aware and am becoming even more aware, that November is a bad time for any sort of writing challenge that isn't NaNo. Still, I didn't chicken out this time, so yay for that.

I want to completely redo all of my icons. This is a little frightening. I kind of want to make more icons before I do though. I need better Witch Hunter Robin ones, for example.

The point of this post is that I still haven't written nearly enough given we're six days into NaNo.

As much as I'd love to work today I don't think I can handle standing at a sandwich bar serving people for seven hours. Didn't sleep until 12.30 or so, woke up at 5.30, and feeling physically ill as a result of stress and low iron. Expect I'll be surviving on juice for a sugar boost today.

Am going to have to actively job search when I get home. Pity the garden cashier job was so far away. I think I'd have liked that job; cashiering I can handle at this point, and plants I like, it'd have been good to learn more about them that way.

*eyes phone* ... the alarm was supposed to go off ten minutes ago.

Right. I'm up I'm up. To the train with the Wicked ost and a sketchbook.

Woke up this morning and it was so cold I stayed in bed with a pile of blankets and a book. I only got through the prologue before life required I get out of bed though. =/

And all was good (if a little on the cold side) until the cramps started. D:

Also. I need to like chain myself to my desk and disconnect the internet to focus my attention on writing.

The good news is that I'm making this for dinner.

So, had my H1N1 vaccine today - gotta love being on the priority list! Of the dozen or so needles I've had stuck in me over the last month, it was the least painful. In fact, I hardly felt it at all. Good, yeah?

Except now my arm is hurting like a really hurty thing. Ow.

Anyways, on to the topic: I'm not doing Nano this year, due to extreme cases of FAIL in recent years, but my system rebels at the idea of not doing insane amounts of crappy writing in November. It just feels wrong. So I've made a commitment to write 50000 words put together by the 30th. Yesterday I split the words between a DS9 AU I've been wanting to write for years, and a Torchwood/Dark Is Rising crossover I've been wanting to write for years. I highly doubt that either of these will ever be completed.

The point? I would much like prompts/requests. As many as possible, please - don't worry about giving me too many. Anything that's half-decent I'll edit and post as Xmas fics, the other stuff I may or may not post raw depending on how embarrassingly terrible it is.


Also? cheloya: Please let me know what you would like specifically for your birthday fic.

-Car needed battery replaced, it wouldn't start two weeks ago
-Mom walked out in front of a car while my back was turned (she didn't get hurt but it scared the hell out of me)

In actual new stuff news, I signed up for NaNo. I haven't written anything yet but I have some ideas now. Everything will be totally out of order but I'm pretty sure that's okay. I actually want to write. Yay for motivation! I wonder if I can get away with swapping between two different stories...?

I felt awful this morning and stayed in bed reading for awhile. I finally finished The Thief of Time and will be starting The Gates of Twilight to procrastinate instead of writing for NaNo as soon as the burst of motivation is over.

I need to make a list of things I'd been intending to do before I got so depressed awhile back and get them done. I'm pretty sure I promised someone I'd upload music, among other things. So if I did say I'd get you something, please remind me!

Couple of things to read before you post:

1) PLEASE spell out your fandom completely and characters correctly. There's a very good chance I won't know them.

2) PLEASE use proper capitalization and number notation (roman numerals for the most part).

Things that don't conform to the above will make me cranky, and you will likely end up with your prompts ignored.

I will stop taking prompts after I wake up Wednesday November 4th, which is usually 5:30am-ish EDT. Then they'll be sorted and posted by the other co-mod for you to write on.

Eeeeee...three and a half hours until the official start of NaNo and I can begin writing! It's awesome because I have no idea, NO IDEA, what I am starting with or who my characters are. *dies laughing* This is going to be interesting XD

But mostly, today is the 31st of October and that means it's Akira's birthday ^_^ Nine years since he was created! He's still a baby compared to Ceallach but *squishes him* lookit him getting all grown up!

I had no idea I had missed listening to my old goth metal mp3s that much. I guess Sins of Thy Beloved aged well, and the string solos are still pretty awesome. It does help that my soundbox is loads better than it used to be back when I listened to it all the time... the growly parts are actually intelligible!

Amusingly enough I've always assumed the solos were violin, but I now realize I have no confirmation it's the case. :x

I still think some selections from SoTB and early Theatre of Tragedy would make a pretty darn sweet soundtrack for Violinist of Hameln. XDD
